Birdie Transformation Program Week 2

Birdie Transformation Program Week 2

There are two objectives this week as it relates to our physical health and well being: begin intellectual learning on one hand, and sensing and observation of the body on the other. This week’s activities serve as an example for doing similar things for other topics and situations in the future. Study and self observe.

Week 002:

For this week, the task is twofold, one for your mind, the other training your sensed, experienced body awareness. It relates to a specific action that almost all of us do in our lives and involves substances we commonly drink, Coffee and Tea.

Why are we doing this? Because what we eat and drink does affect how out body-minds function, our emotional states, how energy flows and how we show up in this life.

If you never drink coffee and don’t know anyone who does, you can substitute tea, even herbal, or especially herbal. Herbal teas are medicinal and they do have effects on your body.

1Find out all about coffee.

Research and study. You can use books or internet or talk to people.

You will know you really learned something when you try to explain it to someone else.

The questions below are simply a guide to help your focus.

What is coffee, where does it come from, how did the ancient people use it and how is to grown today?

What are the different methods of roasting coffee, why do we roast it and how does it change coffee?

What substances are in coffee that affect the body and mind of humans?

Is drinking coffee healthy for humans? What effect does coffee have on humans – brain, heart, stomach, intestines or more. How many cups of coffee are considered beneficial in current thinking?

What is the deal with coffee enemas?

Is drinking coffee healthy if we add milk and sugar?

How much caffeine is in decaffeinated coffee?

Do coffee grounds make good fertilizer?

What kind of water do we use to make coffee?

Is slave labor involved on the coffee plantations?

Does coffee contain pesticides or other contaminants that might be toxic to your body?

2 – Honest self observation

This week, ask yourself with each cup of coffee or tea you drink: Why do I drink coffee or tea this time? Observe yourself, be honest, sense what is going on inside or with your body.

Do you need coffee to “wake up”, to stay awake, to relax, to have something to sip on? Is it a habit, a comfort? Is it addictive behavior you feel you can’t do anything about?

Sense your body as you prepare the coffee/tea, notice the effects.

What are you feeling before reaching for that cup?

At least once or twice this week, write down why you did have beverages like coffee or tea. The reason does not matter, we are just finding out about it. This is not a time for you to blame yourself or put yourself down.

Thursday morning: At the end of this week, after learning all about coffee/tea and having observed what you do all week regarding it, and the effects it has on your body-mind, ask yourself:

3 – It is time to change something?

Would it be good if I changed anything in regards to drinking coffee or tea?

If yes, what would that change be?

Challenge if yes: Do it for 3 weeks and notice what happens with you.

4 – Share something about this experiment and week in the comments.

The following are two points that came up I’d like to share.:

In a recent conversation with someone, a statement was made that even when one is on the path, doing spiritual work, it is so so easy to fall back into everyday routine and conditioning. This reminded me of a conversation many years ago with someone who was wondering if, once awakened in this life, one could go back to sleep?

In my experience, living a life that is conscious requires establishing some habits and some of those are different from what we have been given via family and culture. Growth and learning do not stop when we reach a new stage. In order to really be stable at a higher level, we need to bring all of us to that level. As we move up in the development of our selves, practices become necessary. Community of like minded people becomes important. And sometimes structured life circumstances and practices can be highly beneficial for us in that process. This program can function as such a structure.

The other point is this: As the Spirit That Moves Through All Things moves through us, you and me, it will be expressed in a particular way. It will not be the same as in someone else. At the same time, there are common universal values that emerge once the body-mind is cleared and the heart is open.

My own coffee story.

At home, growing up, I didn’t drink any coffee, except rarely. Starting university, we were into good tea, if anything.

Then, at age 28, I came to the USA and was working in a hospital. Everyone drank coffee, and after a while, I did too. It was very bad coffee, dirty water coffee, but it was the thing to do, go on break, go for a coffee, having something to hold, something to warm your hands or keep you awake, as sometimes there was no sleep for 36 hours.

Later, I kept the habit, but not as often. When I went part time at my job, shortly after I had bought a house, I walked 45 minutes to Starbucks, had a Cappuccino, or 2, later walked home. I did this about 5 days a week for about a year.

When I hosted a workshop at my house, there also was time to go to the local diner with some folks, and of course, there was coffee, and free refills. We went out with friends and family, and there was always that coffee. I remember a restaurant in Germany where I would go many afternoons by myself for a cappuccino and write in my journal or read a book. I just did it, drinking coffee that is. I liked it. It was a social thing and a comforting thing. I never had coffee first thing in the morning at my own place, but did so whenever I went home to my parents or visited someone.

Then, I moved into a spiritual community and stopped drinking any coffee for years.

My mother visited and she wanted to share sitting down with some coffee and I did, drank coffee for a while after that. Then stopped again. At some point, I was given a taste of the best coffee ever: Turkish coffee. Smallest cup. Best coffee ever.

A couple more years no coffee, then started again. Now I knew about benefits of drinking coffee, black, not with sugar or milk. It took time to really discern the effects coffee had on my body: my heart beats fast, bowel more active, and I did not fall asleep so easily. After a few weeks, I’d get so exhausted, adrenal fatigue, as well as irritated and short tempered. I’d stop, after a few days, things would start to be better and better. I tried coffee again, but soon enough, same effects. I went through this 3 times deliberately and then I stopped. There was no point. Whatever the benefits of coffee might be, for me, it didn’t work.

I now have 1 cup of fair trade certified, organic Darjeeling tea very 1-3 days, and water.

If my mother should visit one more time, will I share time with her having a coffee? Yes, and I will enjoy it too. If I had to drive somewhere and was really tired, I would have coffee to keep me awake. But the times of having habitual coffee are over for me.

Week 001 – Birdie Transformation Program – BirdieTP

Week 001 – September 7, 2018

Okay here you are. Your life is about to change, it will get even better. Let me just share a little about my path. I started on a conscious deliberate healing journey 28 years ago, and to this day, the process of healing, transformation and learning continues. I suspect it will be so till the day I move on to a different plane altogether.

Some things about human life are fundamental. Food, shelter and connection.

During week one, we will take a first look at two material basics: housing and food.

Homework

WEEK 1 –

Food and Shelter

The first 3 days of the Week:

As you go about your day, take mental notes about your house/apartment and the foods you eat.

It really would be best to do this using a diary and writing down your observations. Write down what you notice each day.

How do you feel regarding where you live and what you eat? Remember, this is not to judge in any way, it is simply finding out something about it, putting it into the foreground, fully in view.

Ask yourself some questions, like:

Do I feel safe here at my place of residence?

Do I like my place?

Is there anything I don’t like about it?

Are there spaces in the house where I feel especially good?

Can I sleep well here?

Do I like coming back to my house after work, after I have been away?

Is it clean, dusty, filthy messy etc?

Is there good water to drink?

How is the air?

Do I have a special sacred place in my house/apartment?

What do I eat every day?

Do I enjoy the food, appreciate the food, take enough time to eat the food?

What do I know about the quality of the food?

How do I feel after eating the foods I eat?

Just observe for 3 days – Saturday, Sunday, Monday, no actions, no changing of anything. Write down what you notice about your house/apartment and about the food you eat, how you like it and how it makes you feel.

On day 4

Sit with your list, read it, or think about it. Or you can be lying in bed and contemplate it, or in a bath or shower. Contemplate about the questions below, answer them without thinking how it might be possible.

Don’t actually do anything other than think about it and imagine it. Listen to your intuitive answers, notice what comes up, notice what you want. You can investigate it later.

Is there anything in my place/residence that I think would be good to change?

Is there anything I want to change?

Is there anything I can change?

Is there a food that would be good to add to my diet?

Is there a food or drink that would be good to no longer eat?

What changes in food might be good to make to have me feel better.

Just write a whole list of things that come to mind.

Don’t be afraid, you won’t have to do them all.

Imagine some changes or living conditions you would love…and really feel how good that would feel to you.

Day 5

Waking up, taking charge, here we go: what if we changed something today? Yes, today is the day.

Today, change one thing in your house that would make you feel better about living there. Make it a change you can do fairly easily, a big change or small change, just a change. If there is nothing you can think of that would make the place more perfect, add some beautiful flowers and feel the effect.

Change it – do it

Notice how it feels having made that change.

Day 6

Change 1 (one) thing about how and what you eat or drink that day that would make you feel good, both at the time as well as later, no guilt no shame.

Do eat it, or don’t, depending on the nature of your change.

For example, your change could be skipping dinner, or not have that extra cup of coffee, or eating a piece of fruit, or making fresh juice.

Notice how it feels having made that one change today.

Day 7

Sharing

Come to Friday online healing event and share if you wish.

Share your experience on the facebook page: Let the Healing Begin

Introduction – Birdie Transformation Program

Birdie-Transformation-Program – Start date September 7, 2018.

For Spanish, click here.

Introduction

The Birdie Transformation Program takes you from fledgling stage to living an inspired life.

We take the image of being like a fledgling little bird, who has gone through the blind and naked nesting stage, having been cared for by the parents enough that you are now out of the nest, but still finding yourself not quite being able to really fly and live this life in full alignment with our soul’s purpose.

We now become the parent of our fledgling self, giving it nourishment and teaching and practices to be able to care for itself, know what it needs to know, and spread its wings to fly free, soar on the currents of divine winds.

This program will eventually address all aspects of your being. It is very practical and it will require your participation, your willingness to learn, question beliefs, accept practice and change; your willingness to look at yourself, your habits, your way of living. It will necessitate change and letting go of what no longer serves well. It is a program in which you will learn, gain experience and skill.

It will be given in weekly increments. It is developed according to what is needed in the field, what comes up, inspired by the movement of that with IS, as it moves through me and you and us.

At the time of it coming into being, books and internet are available to anyone, and so very little explanations or scientific explorations will be included. That form of study is something I will from time to time encourage you to do on your own.

While going through my storage shed to sort out all the things to let go of, I was struck by all the books and all the different ways various people and groups and systems make sense of this life. You somehow ended up reading this. I believe the universe brings us all the time what we need to grow and transform and it keeps doing that, whether we can listen, or not yet.

Our physical being and our soul are in a reciprocal relationship. Our body-mind is a reflection of our essence habits and tendencies and issues. Some of us believe we came here into this lifetime having taken on issues to be worked through and transformed, the body being the vehicle for transformation.

In the Birdie Transformation Program, healing will happen. Your wholeness will emerge. You will feel a lot, and it will not all be easy or pleasant. We will take full responsibility and charge of our lives. Then, as we work through our issues and conditioning, our energy body and soul gets cleared and the current of the Spirit That Moves Through All Things can run through clear, unimpeded and without distortion. Then life becomes guided. We learn to listen to the voice of the divine, the highest vibrations, sometimes speaking to us through subtle currents in our bodies. The more we strengthen our vessel, the more current it can conduct without burning out.

You will need a journal, or paper, and a pen.

Since the assignments are given during the Distance Energy Healing on Fridays, day 1 of each new week is on Saturday. At any time you have the choice to participate or, if it seems too much, not do an exercise. You can rejoin the next time.

Assignments will be posted on let-the-healing-begin.com
